Belton Woods Ladies Jan Machin and Ailsa Lines travelled to Slaley Hall at the weekend having played in 7 Knockout rounds of the Daily Mail Foursomes final, and reached the final 16 out of 485 entries.
Our Ladies played Dunbar Golf Club on a very muddy Hunting Course, unfortunately Jan and Ailsa lost 2-1
Jan’s message:
“We lost 2&1 in the first round against Dunbar golf club. We found a muddy Hunting course quite a challenge!
Sadly, after Monday, play was abandoned due to the heavy rainfall and the semi/final will be played in the spring.
We had a 2nd round on the Priestman’s course with 2 from Panmure golf club on Monday afternoon, in sunshine before the heavens opened.
It was a great experience very well organised and were presented with a lovely silver photo frame as a memento for getting to the final.
Can I say a thank you to Matt and Q hotels for the lovely gilet and ping jumper. Very smart and very warm”
