Seniors Captain

SENIORS CAPTAIN

In 2017 I moved to Caythorpe, Lincolnshire to be closer to my daughter and new grandson. Although, I have lived in numerous counties during my working career I have found Lincolnshire to be the most friendliest of all those other counties. Which is credit to the people of Lincolnshire.

Having played golf for many years in Leicestershire and restarting after Covid, I decided I needed a new challenge and thought Belton Woods Golf Club would give me that challenge with having two superb courses which have entirely different characteristics. I have not been disappointed and I am
still trying to get to grips with the two courses.

Joining the senior section of Belton Woods Golf Club has been one of my better decisions in life. From the first time I turn up they were very friendly, accommodating and very welcoming and very keen to get a £1 from me for my contribution to the social rollup.

Talking about social golf, we have roll ups on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The choosing of playing partners is totally random therefore you are always playing with different partners.

The seniors have their own Web page, which gives all members new and old Information on everything golf for the year and up and coming social events. For those who like match play we play numerous golf matches against other
Golf Clubs within the County.

The Seniors section also run monthly competitions for both Medal and Stableford which are used as qualifiers for ones handicap. If this is not enough we also have the Captains day which is used, to raise funds for the Captains nominated Charity and two away days.

To qualify for the Sections Section you most be 55 or over and looking to join an active and friendly group of people. When you join the main club just ask about the seniors section and they will give you our details or just go to the
www.beltonwoodsseniors.co.uk

My nominated charity this year will be for Prostrate Cancer ( www.prostaid.co.ukPROSTaid) having been diagnosed with prostrate cancer in 2022 and treated successfully at Lincoln County Hospital. I will be trying to publicise the condition and treatments at my Captains day, on the 13th June. I look forward to anyone who wants to join me and the rest of the seniors in a very pleasurable day’s golf.
